Christmas is on its way and Friday was an aptly cold winter night for our Christmas Craft Evening. We now have no excuses for not having the best dressed dining tables for our Christmas lunches, for as soon as we walked in the door we had three inspiring table layouts to help us get creative.

The evening began with an inspirational floral demonstration from Ruth Flood-Powell, who showed us that even in the winter we can create an elegant centre piece for our Christmas table.

Next Gill Esam talked us through the first craft of the evening, to make 4 Santa napkin rings.  These napkin rings are so much fun and we have plenty of time to create more no matter how many we invite to Christmas lunch.

Then we had a well earned break and were treated to some very delicious savoury and sweet canapés as well as a glass of Prosecco or sparkling elderflower cordial. Thanks to Yvonne Short, Jo Roach, Jane Goldsmith, Steph Herbert and Claire Howard for preparing these yummy morsels!!

Caroline Lilley inspired with a presentation showing us a wide range of homemade advent calendars to help us have a more inspiring and personal countdown to Christmas Day.

Next Liz Wickens talked us through the second craft of the evening, a really cute flowerpot angel decoration. By the end of the evening we had a room full of beautiful angels.

Thanks to Jo Roach for showing us we can use the same small flowerpot to make a pixie, reindeer or even a snowman.

We are extremely grateful to Mark Herbert who delivered a great talk.  We are also really thankful to Ian Wallace and Jon Lilley who were our technical support to enable all crafters to see all the steps live on the large screen.

Many thanks to all who came to help make it a real success.  We are also really grateful to everyone who helped with the preparations, setting up, catering and clearing up - there are too many to mention individually but we are no less grateful to you all!!
