Around 40 older people enjoyed two days 'Holiday at Home' on 14th and 15th May.
The first day was full of activities and events. A Community Police Officer gave a very useful talk on 'Keeping your home safe', followed by a session from our very own Occupational Therapist giving helpful advice on various aids available to help those with mobility problems.
We then had a choice of activities, from, amongst others, flower arranging to table tennis or indoor bowls. After a delicious lunch we heard from our longest serving church member (55 years) about her experience of Christian life.
Later we had a sing-along, a quiz and an epilogue by Pastor Jeff Steadman, and closed the day with tea and cakes.
The second day was a coach outing to Abingdon, where we took a boat trip to Oxford and enjoyed a tasty lunch on board. The coach brought us back to Long Crendon.
Our grateful thanks go to those who organised a very enjoyable time.
