It was great to meet at LCBC last Saturday, 15th Nov, to discuss how we could better support one another as Christian men.  After a hearty full English breakfast, around 25 men (mostly from LCBC but joined by some from other local churches) spent some time in groups discussing. 

There was a real sense of coming together and wanting to delve deeper into the things of God.  Various ways of facilitating this were aired.  Prayer partnering as pairs or triplets were encouraged.  An early morning pre-work prayer meeting was discussed although there were various ideas on how early this should be and which day of the week!  The use of e-mail, texts and What's App were discussed as ways of sharing prayer needs.  It was agreed that a regular get together - perhaps on a Saturday morning to discuss issues of particular relevance to men - would be good.  We acknowledged the challenge of the current social climate - how can we be the men God wants us to be in our church, our homes and our community and how can this be underpinned by lives worthy of our faith?  Finally and crucially we discussed how we might effectively share the gospel with our friends and family - with an emphasis on stepping out in confidence.  I really look forward to us meeting again.
