craft daisyOn Saturday 14th May we held our latest Craft Evening.

This year we chose a daisy theme for this spring event.

craft ruth 1To start the evening we were shown by Ruth how to make beautiful spring flower arrangements.  Ruth gave us a really handy tip of using grids of sellotape or rustic woven willow to ensure wild flowers are displayed perfectly without the need for florist oasis.

craft basket 2The next craft was a demonstration by Jo of how to make a paper gift basket, which is an excellent way of presenting a collection of small gifts.   See below for full instructions on how to make the baskets.

The baskets can be made in a range of sizes depending on the number or size of your gifts or even to suit the occasion.

There was also a table set up to give ideas on what items could be put into the baskets.

Download this pdf for close up photos of some of the example baskets to give you plenty of ideas of the sort of gifts you can put in your completed basket.

craft canapesWe then had a break to have some delicious savoury and sweet canapés.

Many thanks to Yvonne, Jo, Caroline, Lesley, Sophie and Vera for preparing such tasty treats.

Recipes and photos of the canapés can be downloaded here.

craft goody bag

Everyone who attended received a goody bag which had been beautifully hand embellished by Helen with some sweet daisy material to tie in with our theme.

Many thanks to Ian, Peter and Jon on our technical team who helped to make the event really professional so no matter where you sat you could have a clear view of the demonstrations.

We would also like to thank all those who helped make the evening a great success. There are too many to name individually but we had people helping with setup, preparing the crafts, catering, making crafts for the stall and finally on clearing up to get our church ready for Sunday morning's service. We really couldn't put on this event without you so a massive and heartfelt thanks to you all!
