In November we will be looking at Exodus as part of our three-year project to read the Bible together
Exodus 1-18 Click here for a video introduction [*], which opens in a pop-up window.
How does God respond when his people cry out to him? The first part of the book of Exodus recounts a powerful confrontation between God and the unjust Pharaoh. This section is a fast-paced narrative that leads to divine justice, rescue, and deliverance.
Exodus 19-40 Click here for a video introduction [*], which opens in a pop-up window.
The first part of Exodus shows God freeing Israel from Egypt. Then, at Mount Sinai, Moses receives God’s law, but Israel breaks the covenant. Moses pleads with God, who renews his promises. After the tabernacle is built, God’s glory fills it, but Moses can’t enter due to his own rebellion.

It seems impossible that we are nearing the end of the year and we have only 2 sessions left in November and then our coffee morning in December.
We have much to praise God for as members are regular and really enthusiastic. In November, January and February we are so full we only just have enough tables for everyone! The range of abilities is still a big challenge but the team look out for those on their table who need most help and the person leading and teaching that day moves around the room giving help and encouragement. Members also help and inspire each other.
This month our first Bible focus was on Harvest with a challenge in Deuteronomy 15 of giving generously and looking at the Jewish practice of gleaning when harvesting corn and olives to provide for the poor, fatherless and widows.
Our second session was led by one of our newer members and artist Dawn Wheeler. She gave a personal message from Psalm 23.
It is a great encouragement for which we praise God that there are now two artist/teachers who can lead sessions alongside Gill. Both are excellent artists and bring their own particular skills and artistic abilities. Gill is on holiday in November so Anna will be teaching on November 11th with David bringing God’s word. Gill taking the final session on November 25th with Lesley bringing Gods word. We would all appreciate your prayers.
Please pray for our last sessions that we will end the year positively and at our popular coffee morning have good conversations. Everyone will be given a bag with the book ‘’The Christmas Thread’ by Jony Allcock and a pack of watercolour postcards where we hope to encourage members to complete some next year and bring them to the sessions. Our LCBC card invite to the Christmas services will also be included. Please pray that some will come to the daytime carol service on December 9th or to other services.
After the coffee morning we have a team lunch where we will be praying and discussing next year. We have a really united team whose different skills complement each other so please go on praying that we will grow in love and fellowship. Our team are busy people with many family and church commitments please pray that we will keep our eyes on the Lord and be blessed in our daily walk with Him.
The Spectrum Arts Group meets from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.
