Cleobury Mortimer 2019
For our LCBC Weekend Away this year around 120 of us headed to Shropshire for a long weekend together. In the mornings speaker Steve Levey led three thought-provoking sessions on Holiness, based on the book of Romans. We had time after these sessions to break into groups to reflect, discuss and pray about what we had heard. On Monday we shared our thoughts and prayers for our church and community in the light of what we had learned.
In the afternoons there were various options to keep us busy, from sports, to music, drama, team activities or just relaxing at the centre. On Saturday a few of us went for a beautiful walk in the Shropshire countryside led by David; I then followed this with tea, cake and a chat while learning origami with Annii.
The children enjoyed their sessions in the mornings with bible teaching and activities. Our boys just loved the freedom to run around and play with their friends.
The evening entertainments, games, quizzes and the famous Crendon's Got Talent, were very popular too.
The time to relax, talk, laugh and get to know each other better, with the time spent in teaching and worship, were a great combination.
